He was the son of John and Mary Halden and the brother of John Halden. In 1881 they lived at 3 Tremayne Terrace and in 1901 on Boundary Road (both Hull). In 1911 he was lodging at 63 Hawthorn Avenue Hull. He was the husband of Laura Mary (née Mann) Halden and the father of Enid Mary Halden. His probate was proven on 21st February 1921 at London and shows him as William Rawson Halden, stationed at Nottingham, corporal in the R.A.P. Corps died 8th January at the Military Hospital, Trent Bridge, Nottingham. His effects of £362 3shilling and 5 pence were left to Laura May Halden his widow.
He was a bristle merchant.

Corporal William Rawson Halden served with the Royal Army Pay Corps and was stationed at the Pay Corps at Nottingham. He died on 8th January 1919 and is buried in Nottingham General Cemetery his name is commemorated upon the Screen wall in the cemetery ref 03258
