He was the husband of Ada Williams (formerly Hardaker), of 81 Shaw Street, Ilkeston. Their child, Winifred Maud Hardaker, was left in the care of her grandmother, Emma Herrod, of 16 Ella Road, West Bridgford, to whom a pension was paid. The sole legatee of his will was his uncle, Joel Herrod.

Royal Warwickshire Regiment
Private William Henry Hardaker, enlisted at Ilkeston and served with the 2nd Battalion Royal Warwickshire Regiment, he died of heat disease at Carrington Military Hospital on 2nd November 1918. He is buried in Nottingham General Cemetery, where he is commemorated on the Screen Wall.
