George Albert Lee was born in 1881 at Nottingham and was the son of George a carter and Sarah Lee, of Nottingham. His father George Lee was born in 1845 in Yorkshire and his mother Sarah was born in 1848 also in Yorkshire, they were married and went on to have the following children, all of whom were born in Nottingham, Annie b1876, Edwin b1877, Hilton b1879, George b1881, Mary b1888, Bertie b1889 and Fred b1893.

6th Bn Somerset Light Infantry
Private George Albert Lee enlisted on 31st May 1915 served with the 6th battalion Somerset Light Infantry, after serving abroad he was discharged on 29th August 1918 under King's Regulation 392, due to sickness and was issued with a Silver War Badge no 448063. He died on 11th February 1919 and is buried in Nottingham General Cemetery.
