Thomas Woodward was born in 1870 at Radford He married Sarah Elizabeth Maddock (born 15th September 1872 ) whom he married in 1896 at Nottingham, they lived at 7, Old St. Place, Old St., St Ann's, Nottingham they had the following children Percy born 1897, Alfred born 1898, Florence born 1902 and Mabel born 1914. In 1911 the family are living at 65 Miall Street, Old Radford, Thomas 40 yrs is a lace maker, he is living with his wife Sarah 38 yrs and their 4 children.
He was lace maker.

Private Thomas Woodward originally enlisted in 1890 at Derby , he served until his time expired. He later re enlisted on 14th June 1908, he served with the West Yorkshire Regiment, he was discharged due to sickness on 03rd November 1917 when he was 44 years of age he was issued with a silver war badge number 284632 . He died on 15th January 1919 and is buried at the General Cemetery, Nottingham .
