Peter Nequest was born in 1897 in Nottingham and was the son of Peter a sheet music dealer and Emma Nequest, née Carter of 29, South Sherwood St., Nottingham. His father Peter was born in 1870 in Hull, Yorkshire and his mother Emma Carter was born in 1869 in Nottingham, they were married in 1895 in Nottingham and went on to have the following children all of whom were born in Nottingham, Elsie b1896, Peter b1897, Doris b1899, Harold b1901, Cecil b1903 and Leslie b1905. In the 1911 census the family are living at 29 South Sherwood Street, Nottingham and are shown as Peter Nequest 41 yrs a sheet music dealer, he is living with his wife Emma 42 yrs and their children, Elsie 14 yrs a scholar, Peter 13 yrs a scholar, Doris 12 yrs a scholar, Harold 10 yrs a scholar, Cecil 8 yrs and Leslie 6yrs

B Coy 1/7th Bn Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derby Regiment)
Private Peter Nequest, served with “B” Company, 1/7th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire) Regiment (Robin Hood Rifles). He landed in France on 26th June 1915 and was reported missing on 20th December 1916. He had been killed in action on 1st July 1916.His name is commemorated on the Theipval Memorial
