Thomas Wilkinson was born in 1883 at Radford, Nottingham, he was the son of Frederick Wilkinson of Nottingham. . Thomas married Henrietta Annie Watkins (born 1st February 1884) on 1st June 1912, at St Marks Church, Farnborough, they lived at 12 Brown Street, Alfreton Road, Nottingham, they had a son Leslie Frederick born 11th June 1913 at Farnborough. Commencing 17th April 1916 his widow was awarded a pension of 15 shillings and 6 pence a week rising to 25 shillings and 8 pence a week on 3rd December 1918 she was living at 11 Gatton Park Road, Redhill, the cwgc gives her address as 2, Bank Place, Lynchford Rd., South Farnborough, Hants.

Lance Sergeant Thomas Wilkinson enlisted at Nottingham, he served with the 1st battalion Grenadier Guards, he landed in France on 6th October 1914 and died of wounds on 14th October 1915 he is buried at Etaples Military Cemetery.
