Person Details
Radford, Nottingham
William Henry Smith was the son of Albert Smith and Harriett Hannah Newton who married in the Worksop registration district in 1892. Their children included: Frances Ellen (b.1893), William Henry (b.1896), Thomas Charles Richard (b.1897) and Charles Baden (b.1900). The Smith family lived at: 14 Truswell Place, Old Radford [C.1901]; 91 Kennington Road Radford [C.1911]. The death notice placed in the local newspaper for William Henry Smith gave his home address as 9 Canterbury Road, Radford [n.e.p.17.2.1919]. The same address is given in the post-war records of the CWGC. Albert Smith, who worked as a general labourer, appears to have died at Nottingham, aged 46, in 1918. The likelihood is that his widow, Harriett, died at Nottingham, aged 72, in 1944.
