George Thomas Taylor (b.1893) was the son of George Taylor and Charlotte Kaley who married in the Belper registration district Derbyshire in 1881. Their other children included: Annie (b.1881), Emily (b.1884) d. 9 October 1909 age 24, Lettie (b.1896), Harold (b.1899) and Doris (b.1901). The Taylor family lived at: 53 St Paul’s Street, Radford [C.1891]; 17 Crofts Place, St Peter’s Street, Radford [C.1901]; 6 Crofts Place [C.1911 & CWGC]. George Taylor, who worked as a coal miner, died on 3 September 1955 aged 95. His wife, Charlotte, died at Nottingham, aged 88, on 25 June 1948.

George Thomas Taylor enlisted at Nottingham and served with the 1st Battalion Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Regiment. He died of wounds on 15th September 1917 and is buried in Trois Arbres Cemetery, Steenwerck, Nord, France.
Personal inscription, CWGC headstone: 'God's will be done' Inscription family gravestone, Basford Cemetery, Nottingham: 'In loving memory of Emily Taylor who passed away Octr. 9th 1909 in her 25th year. Not our will, but thine be done. Also Pte George Thomas Taylor 1st Sherwood Foresters. Died of wounds in France Sepr. 15th 1917. Aged 22 years. Duty nobly done. Also Charlotte Taylor, who died June 25th 1948, aged 88 years. At rest. Also George Taylor, who died Sept. 3rd 1955, aged 95 years. Reunited.'
