Born c1888 in Nottingham, Jesse was the son of Jesse and Elizabeth Brasier, of Chesterfield Street, Carlton, Nottingham. He was one of 6 children. Samuel Jesse married Phoebe Catherine Carter in 1909. They went to live at 134 Curzon Street in Netherfield. Samuel was a railway engine cleaner at the Railway Company. They had one son, Jesse Godfrey Brasier, born c1910 at Netherfield. Following Samuel's death Phoebe remarried in 1917, to Percy Brown. She was born in London and went back there for her second marriage. According to the CWWG website, Phoebe moved to 18 Salter's Hill, Upper Norwood, London,

He enlisted at Marylebone, Middlesex and went to France on 25 August 1915. Killed in action, Samuel has no known grave and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial in France. He was eligible for the 1915 Star, British and Victory medals
