Albert Brown was born in 1895 at Blidworth and was the son of George Henry Brown a roadman labourer and Annie Brown née Warrener of Woodside Cottages, Blidworth. His father George Henry was born in 1867 at Blidworth, his mother Sarah Ann Warrener was born in 1868 also at Blidworth, they were married in 1892, their marriage was recorded in the Mansfield registration district, they went on to have the following children, Lilly b1893, Albert b1895, Minnie b1900 and Ellen b1904 all were born at Blidworth. In the 1911 census the family were living in Blidworth village and were shown as Henry 44 yrs a raodman labourer, he is living with his wife Annie 43 yrs and their children Albert 15 yrs a farm labourer, Minnie 10 yrs a scholar and Ellen 7 yrs a scholar.
In the 1911 census he is a farm labourer.

Machine Gun Corps (Infantry)
Lance Corporal Albert Brown enlisted at Mansfield and initially served with the service number R/16185 in the King's Royal Rifle Corps, he was killed in action on 21st March 1918 whilst serving with the Machine Gun Corps, he is buried at Ste. Emilie Valley Cemetery, Villers-Faucon, Somme, France.
