He was the son of John and Hanna Beckworth of 45 Burford Road Nottingham. He was the husband of Ada (née Stevenson) Beckworth and the father of Harold Beckworth. In 1911 they lived at 12 Eleanor Terrace Lamcote Street Meadows Nottingham. Ada married Frederick Crane in 1923 and they lived at 1 Seaton Terrace Goodhead Street Meadows Nottingham.
In 1911 he was a packing case maker.

Nottingham Evening Post notice (abridged), 23 September 1916: 'Beckworth. Killed in action September 3rd Corporal F Beckworth, Sherwood Foresters, age 32, of 2 Waterway Terrace, late Lamcote Terrace, Meadows. Wife and child.'
