Frank Barratt Daniels was born in 1892 and baptised on 22nd May 1892 at the Wesleyan Methodist Church, Sandy, Bedfordshire, he was the son of the late Frederick Daniels and Alice Daniels née Barratt. Frederick Daniels was born in 1860 and died in 1901 aged 41yrs Alice Barratt was born in 1860 at Bingham, they were married in 1881 their marriage was recorded in the Bingham registration document they had 7 children. His mother Alice re married in 1901 at Nottingham to Charles William Johnson. In 1911 the family lived at Ashfield, Harlequin, Radcliffe-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire, Charles William Johnson is 39 yrs a jobbing gardener and nurseryman, living with his wife Alice and 4 of her children including Frank Barratt Daniels 18 yrs a printer apprentice.

Lance Corporal Frank Barratt Daniels enlisted on 8th May 1912 at Nottingham giving his age as 20 yrs and 1 month, he was a printer. He went to France on 28th February 1915 and suffered gunshot wounds to his left arm, on 26th June 1915. he was taken to No. 4 General Hospital Versailles, on 29th June 1915 and was transferred to England on 1st July 1915. He returned to France on 3rd March 1916 and suffered gunshot wounds to his spine on 23rd April 1916. He died, on 14th May 1916, aged 24, from a fracture of his eight dorsal vertebrae (broken back) and paralysis at 2nd Canadian General Hospital, Le Treport, France.
