Frederick Williamson and Emily Jane Ellerby married in Lincolnshire in 1889 and were registered at Glanford Brigg. They were blessed with 11 children between 1891 and 1914, their names in age order being, Edith, William, Frederick, Ethel, Arthur, Herbert, Harold, Albert, Kathleen, Elma and Dennis They moved around Lincolnshire spending around 10 years in Gainsborough and in 1908/9 they moved to Retford where they set up home at 70 Cobwell Road, Retford. In 1911, Frederick senior and William were working as brewers labourers and Edith and Fred junior were employed in the local India Rubber factory. Their second child, William, who was born in Kirton in Lindsey in 1892, married in 1914 in Retford to Eleanor Spencer, They made their home 6 doors away from William’s parents in Cobwell Road and had three children, Phyllis in 1915, Alice in 1916 and Sidney in 1918 (about the same time when William was killed). After his death, Eleanor remarried in 1919 to Henry Tunnard.

Royal Field Artillery
After enlisting at Retford, William joined the Royal Field Artillery 'C' Bty 94th Bde, He died of pneumonia, just two days after the ceasefire, and is buried in the St Sever Cemetery Extension, Rouen, France
