Enoch Davis (junior) was born in 1873 in Staffordshire the son of Enock Davis (senior) Enoch married Elizabeth Ridgway (born 9th ,arch 1884) in 1903 and they had the following children, Mary Jane born 28th February 1904, May born 12th September 1905, William Henry born 6th April 1908 and Thomas born 7th June 1909 at the time of his death the family were living at 31 Cemetery Road, Carlton, Nottingham In 1911 Enoch and his family were living at Plantation Row, Hednesford, Staffs and he was a coal miner. His father was deceased by 1917 but had been living at Bett Road Hightown Hednesford Staffordshire. Enoch's wife Elizabeth Davis was living at 'Sunnyside' Arthur Crescent Hootton Road Nottingham by 1917. Following his Enoch death his widow Elizabeth was awarded a pension of 33 shllings and 9 pence a week which commenced on 10th June 1918.

Royal Sussex Regiment
Enlisting at Hucknall he initially served at Private 9469 with the Worcestershire Regiment and then as Private G/24245 with the 15th Battalion Royal Sussex regiment. He embarked for France 12 December 1914. He died on 6th December 1917 from “Exhaustion from mania caused by” active service. and is buried in Norwich Cemetery, Norfolk. He was eligible for the 1915 Star, British and Victory medals
