Enlisted 07/09/1914. Commissioned to Sherwood Foresters on 02/12/1914 as a 2nd Lieutenant then transferred to Lincolnshire Regiment. Promoted in the field whilst serving in Gallipoli.
Mansfield Chronicle Advertiser, 28/09/1916 Photograph printed and a long letter. Killed by a sniper's bullet to his back whilst on way back from checking on his men pinned down by the Germans.
