Walter Cox was born on 1st June 1885 at Radford he married his wife Daisy May Britten in 1908 at Nottingham, they lived at David's Lane , Old Basford,Nottingham. In the 1911 census he and his wife are living at 16 Lawrence Street, Radford he is shown as being 25 yrs and a carter, he is living with his wife Daisy May 26 yrs a house wife. .
He was a carter and was a postman when he resided at Worksop.

Private Walter Cox enlisted at Derby, whilst residing at Worksop he served with the 3rd battalion Sherwood Foresters , he died on 1st April 1917 of chronic cystitis and pyelectasis at Sunderland.. He is buried in Nottingham Church Cemetery.
His sole legatee of his will was Sarah Clarke. No relationship is given in the register of the disposal of his personal effects.
