Albert Harold Hardy was born in 1890 the son of Charles a coal miner hewer and Sarah Hardy née Brammar of 38, Co-operative Street, Stanton Hill, Nottinghamshire. Charles was born in 1852 at Teveral, Sarah Ann Brammar was born in 1855 at Luton, married in 1873 at Mansfield they had 11 children, sadly two died in infancy or early childhood. Albert married Mary Broadhurst in 1908 at Mansfield, they had two children, Perley born 24th April 1909 and Wilfred Harold born 23rd May 1912. In 1911 they lived at 129 Cross Street, Stanton Hill Nottinghamshire. Albert 21 yrs is a coal miner , he is living with his wife Mary 20 yrs and their daughter Perley His widow was awarded a pension of 18 shillings and 6 pence a week from 22nd May 1916 which was increased to 22 shillings and 11 pence a week on 4th April 1917. His widow went on to re marry on 24th December 1917 to Alfred Barr.
He was a coal miner at Butcher Wood Colliery, Teversal, Nottinghamshire before enlisting

Lance Corporal Albert Harold Hardy enlisted at Sutton-in-Ashfield 7th September 1914. giving his age as 23 yrs, he was a coal miner. He went to France 2nd March 1915, was appointed Lance Corporal 27th August 1915 and was killed in action 14th October 1915 Buried/Commemorated : Loos Memorial, France. Panel 87 to 89.
