Private Walter Henry Barlow enlisted on 19th May 1915 at Mansfield. He went to France 29th December 1916 and was admitted to 36 Casualty Clearing Station at Cayeux, France, 1st April 1917, suffering from trench foot and trench fever. He was transferred to No.12 General Hospital Rouen, 3rd April 1917 before being transferred to England on Hospital Ship Aberdonian, 28th April 1917. He returned to France to France 9th September 1917 and was killed in action, 21st March 1918, aged 34, during the German attack on the British line near Noreiul, Ervillers, France. Commemorated : Arras Memorial, France. Bay 7.
