Known as Dudley. Parents Henry and Harriette Dobson North of 24 Watson Avenue, Mansfield (CWGC). He was the nephew and godson of Rev Needham who made a gift to Sutton in Ashfield church in memory of his nephew. Dudley left £286 6s &3d to his father in his will.
Bank Clerk. Enrolled at Queen Elizabeth School but never actually attended the school. Attended University College Nottingham and served in the OTC.

Southwell Diocesan Magazine, June 1930 (Vol 3, No 6): 'Sutton in Ashfield has received an In Memoriam gift from the Rev RR Needham of Tunbridge Wells. The material is of the richest texture and combines the most exquisite colouring and workmanship. The gift is in memory of Robert Dudley North, the son of Mr and Mrs Harry North of Mansfield, the nephew and godson of the donor. The following inscription is to be attached to the chasuble, 'In memoriam, Robert Dudley North, who loved and served this church. At rest - Flanders, May 3rd 1916.'
