Harold Westby

He was the son of William and Emma Westby and the brother of Eric, Reginald, Edna, Leslie, Robert, Percy, Norman and Horace Westby. In 1911 they lived at Park Road Chilwell Nottinghamshire.

Bombardier Harold Westby, M.M., served with “C” Battery, 152nd Brigade Royal Field Artillery, he died of wounds on 14th May 1918. He is buried in Aire Communal Cemetery. The award for his Military Medal was announced in the 'London Gazette,' 18th June 1917.

Article published 27th May 1918 in the Nottingham Journal and Express reads :- “CHILWELL M.M. DIES. “News has been received of the death of Gunner Harold Westby, M.M., Chilwell. “The eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. W. H.
