Harry Bernard Farnath was the son of Samuel Farnath and Emma Cross who married in Nottingham in 1893. Samuel had previously married Clara Ellen Stevenson who married in Nottingham in 1883. This first marriage produced several children including: Percy (b.1887) and Stanley (b.1889). Clara Ellen Farnath died at Nottingham, aged 28, in 1891. The second marriage produced Harry Bernard (b.1895), plus Edith Evelyn (b.1897) and Louisa Catherine (b.1904). The Farnath family homes identified were: 50 Garden Street, Radford [C.1901]; 98 Hartley Road, Radford [C.1911]; 80 Trafalgar Road, Radford [CWGC]. Samuel Farnath, who was described as a beast salesman in the 1901 census, died at Nottingham, aged 46, in 1910. Emma Farnath, now a widow, worked at home as a plain net mender. She didn’t remarry and eventually died in Nottingham, aged 88, in 1960.
Harry Farnath worked as a packer in a cotton mill.
