Charles Reginald Laud was born in 1894 he was baptised on 1st July 1894 at Brackley parish church he was the only child of Charles Henry a domestic gardener and Harriet Laud née Collins in 1911 they lived at Aubourn Lincoln. Charles Henry was born in 1861 at Faldingworth, Lincs, Harriett Collins was born in 1864 at Greetham, Rutland, they were married on 29th May 1890 at Brackley parish church. In the 1911 census the family are living at Aubourn, Lincolnshire Charles Henry 50 yrs is a domestic gardener he is living with his wife Harriett 47 yrs and their son Charles Reginald 16 yrs a farm labourer.
In 1911 he was a farm labourer.

Private Charles Reginald Laud enlisted at Worksop whilst residing at Welbourne, Lincolnshire, he initially served with service number33729 in the Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derby Regiment). He was killed in action on 24th December 1916 and is buried at Bellacourt Military Cemetery Riviere Pas de Calais France.
