Albert Edward Glover was born in 1887 at Nottingham and was the son of Herbert a cab driver and Bertha Glover née Richardson of 40 Mona Road, West Bridgford, Nottingham His father Herbert was born in 1860 at Nottingham his mother Bertha Richardson was also born in 1860 at Woodborough, they went on to have 3 children, sadly one died in infancy or early childhood, their surviving children were Albert Edward b1887 and Herbert Harold b1890, both were born in Nottingham. In the 1911 census the family are living at 7 Richmond Rod, West Bridgford and are shown as Herbert 51 yrs a cab driver, he is living with his wife Bertha 51yrs and their sons Albert Edward 24 yrs a hosiery folder and Herbert Harold 21 yrs a professional singer. He married his wife Annie Elizabeth Atkin in 1916 at Nottingham and they lived at 16, Trent Boulevard, West Bridgford, Nottingham.

Corporal Albert Edward Glover served with the 61st company Army Service Corps, , attached to 48th Company. Calais Depot, Army Ordnance Corps he landed in France on 3rd November 1915 and died in Calais, France on 11th March 1919, he is buried in Les Baraques Military Cemetery, Sangatte (grave ref. VIII.G.14).
