Percy Cyril Frank Hutchinson was born in 1889 the son of the late John a coal miner hewer and Ellen Hutchinson née Ward of 41 Morley Street, Sutton in Ashfield. John and Ellen Ward were born in 1850 at Sutton in Ashfield, they were married in 1869 at Mansfield, they went on to have 14 children, sadly 5 died in infancy or early childhood. Percy married Rose Litchfield (born 12th April 1891) on 26th October 1910 at Denaby Church, (near Mexborough) they had three children Lavinia born 3rd February 1912, May born 6th June 1914 and Percy Cyril Frank born 8th May 1918 who born after his fathers death in 1918 and given the same Christian names in commemoration. In 1911 Percy is living at 70 Braithwell Street, Denaby, Yorkshire, he is shown as being 22 yrs and a plumber, he is living with his wife Rose 20 yrs. In 1911 his parents were living at 41 Morley Street, Sutton in Ashfield, John 61 yrs a coal miner is living with his wife Ellen 61 yrs and two of their children, Henry 24 yrs and Clara 17 yrs of age. Percy's widow was awarded a pension of 29 shillings and 7 pence a week which commenced on 30th December 1918 at this time she was living at The Nook, Skegby.
He was a plumber working on colliery hoses at Denaby Main Colliery in Yorkshire.

Private Percy Cyril Frank Hutchinson, enlisted on 15th January 1915 at Mexborough, giving his age as 27 yrs and 6 months he was a coal miner, his next of kin was his wife Rose. Posted to the 1/4th Battalion York & Lancaster Regiment. He embarked from Folkstone on 28th September 1915 landing in France the following day. He returned to England on 19th April 1916 and returned to France on 28th September 1916 , he was killed in action on 26th April 1918 and is buried at Suffolk Cemetery, Vierstraat.
