Christopher Hall was born in 1884 at Southwell and was the son of George a boot maker and Mary Ann Hall née Curzon of Westhorpe, Southwell. His father George was born in 1845 at Southwell and his mother Mary Ann Curzon was born in 1840 at Upton, they were married in 1865 at Southwell and went on to have the following children, Mary Ann b1866, Eliza b1868, Arthur b1869, John b1876, Herbert b1878, Minnie b1880, George b1882, and Christopher b1884, all were born in Southwell. In the 1911 census Christopher and his parents are shown living at Westhorpe, Southwell and are shown as George 66 yrs a boot maker, he is living with his wife Mary Ann 71 yrs assisting in her husbands business and Christopher 26 yrs single a labourer Christopher is also shown on the same census living with his elder brother Herbert in Nottingham, he is residing at 13 Abbey Road, Beeston and is shown as Christopher Hall 27 yrs born Westhorpe, Southwell a farm labourer, he is living with his older brother Herbert 33 yrs a twist hand in the lace industry, who is living with his wife Edith Ada 24 yrs and their 3 children, Frances Elizabeth 5 yrs , Grace Mary 3 yrs and Harold Leslie 1 year of age.

Private Christopher Hall enlisted at Newark, he initially served with service number 21920 in the Sherwood Foresters (Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Regiment). He landed in France on 13th July 1915. He died of wounds on 5th March 1917 at number 5 Casualty clearing station, France whilst serving with the 2nd battalion Northamptonshire Regiment and is buried at Bray Military Cemetery Somme France
