Frank Robinson was born in 1899 at Hucknall and was the son of Harry, a miner, and Esther Robinson née White of 13 Papplewick Lane Hucknall. His father Harry was born in 1874 at Hucknall and his mother Lucy Esther White was also born in 1874 at Hucknall, they were married in 1898 their marriage was recorded in the Basford Registration district, they went on to have the following children all of whom were born in Hucknall Frank b1899, Eric b1904, Winifred b1906, Nora b1908 and Kathleen Robinson b1910. In the 1911 census the family are living at 13 Papplewick Lane, Hucknall and are shown as Harry 37 yrs c coal miner, he is living with his wife Esther 37 yrs and their children, Frank 11 yrs a scholar, Eric 7 yrs a scholar, Winifred 5 yrs, Nora 3 yrs and Kathleen 1 years old.

Lance Corporal
4th Bn Bedfordshire Regiment
Lance Corporal Frank Robinson enlisted at Nottingham and served with the 4th Bedfordshire Regiment. He was killed in action on 27th August 1918 and is buried in A.I.F. Burial Ground, Flers, Somme, France.
