Frank Thompson

Frank Thompson was born in 1880 at Southwell and He was the son of William and Eliza Thompson of Southwell. He was the husband of Elizabeth Ada, (née Walters) Thompson born 1880 Mansfield they were married in 1904 they lived at 94 Birrell Road Sherwood Rise and later 38 Sherwin Street, Nottingham, they went on to have two children Phyllis born 13th July 1905 and Sydney born 9th March 1907 In the 1911 census the family are living at 94 Birrell Road, Sherwood Rise, Nottingham and are shown as Frank 31 yrs a seedman, he is living with his wife Elizabeth Ada 31 yrs and their children, Phyliss 5 yrs and Sydney 4 yrs.

Private. Frederick Thompson, served with the 1038th Mechanical Transport Company, Army Service Corps, he died “of accidental injuries” on 14th July 1918 in Egypt . He is buried in Jerusalem War Cemetery.

Remembered on his wife's parent's headstone in Nottingham Road Cemetery, Mansfield along with his brother-in-law, William Walters. Born in Southwell. Buried Jerusalem Cemetery, Israel. Obituary published 26th July 1917 in the Mansfield Reporter and Sutton Times :- “THOMPSON. – On July 14th, in Egypt, from injuries received in Palestine, Private Frank Thompson, of the A.S.C.M.T., dearly loved husband of Ada Thompson, of Sherwin-street, Nottingham, aged 39 years, son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. S. Walters, of Westhill Drive, Mansfield.” In memoriam published 14th July 1919 in the Nottingham Evening Post :- “THOMPSON. – In loving memory of Pte. Frank Thompson, R.A.S.C., M.T., of 38 Sherwin-street, who died of injuries, Egypt, July 14th, 1918. – Wife and children and [illegible] Leonard. “THOMPSON. – To the memory of our dear son-in-law, Pte. F.
