William Allen Stevenson

He was known as 'Tiny'. He was the only son of Annie and James Stevenson of Londsdale Road, Radford. James predeceased his son.

Corporal William Allen Stevenson, 45th Battery Royal Field Artillery, died of ulcerative colitis at No. 5 Casualty Clearing Station, 10th February 1917. He is buried in Bray Military Cemetery. (grave ref. II.A.59)

Nottingham Post notice (abridged) 19 February 1917: 'Stevenson. Died in hospital February 10th, Bombardier (sic) William Allen Stevenson ('Tiny') RFA, aged 23, only son of Annie and the late James Stevenson of Londsdale Road, Radford.' In memoriam notices published 10th February 1919 in the Nottingham Evening Post :- “STEVENSON. – In loving memory of William Allen (Tiny), Bombdr., R.F.A., who died in France February 10th, 1917. Too dearly loved to ever be forgotten by his sorrowing mother, sister, and fiancée Laura.” “STEVENSON. – In loving memory of W. A. (Billy), R.F.A., died in France February 10th, 1917.
