John William Parnell was born in 1892 and was the son of Isabella Parnell and the step son of Herbert Whetton. He was the brother of Mabel Parnell b1891 and the half brother of Sarah Jane Whetton b1901. His mother Isabella Parnell was born in 1870 at Sutton in Asfield, she went on to marry Herbert Whetton in 1894 their marriage was recorded in the Mansfield registration district. In 1911 the family lived at 58 Woodhouse Yard Sutton in Ashfield Nottinghamshire John William is 19 yrs and a colliery banksman.
He was a colliery banksman above ground.
