Gunner William Ward, served with “D” Battery, 88th Brigade Royal Field Artillery, he had served on the Western Front since 27th September 1914, he was killed in action on 1st June 1917. He is buried in Klein-Vierstraat British Cemetery,
Nottingham Evening Post Roll of Honour 4/7/1917: 'Ward.- Killed in action June 1st Gunner W Ward RFA 131 Sneinton Boulevard, aged 27. Did his duty.- Sadly missed by mother, father,sisters, brother.' Research by David Nunn
