Frank Sissons (junior) was born in 1891 and was the son Frank Sissons (senior) a general labourer and Elizabeth Sissons née Clark of 2 Rams Yard Church Street, Mansfield. Frank Sisson (senior) and Elizabeth Clarke were both born in 1868 at Mansfield, married on 26th June 1887 at Mansfield they had 11 children, sadly two died in infancy or early childhood. In 1911 the family lived at 2 Rams Yard, Church Street, Mansfield, Frank is 43 yrs a general labourer, he is living with his wife Elizabeth 43 yrs 6 of their children, Frank 19 yrs is a coal miner hewer. Frank (junior) married Eliza Freer (born 5th June 1892) on 1st September 1911 at Mansfield, they lived at 16 Toothill Lane, Mansfield they had 2 sons Frank Edward born 14th July 1912 and Sylvester born 19th February 1914. Commencing 10th July 1916 his widow was awarded a pension of 18 shillings and 6 pence a week which was increased on 4th April 1917 to 22 shillings and 11 pence a week.

Sapper Frank Sissons enlisted on 10th September 1915, he landed in France on 23rd September 1915. He died on 23rd December 1915 of gas poisoning. hAVING NO KNOWN GRAVE HIS NAME IS COMMEMORATED ON THE pLOEGSTEERT mEMORIAL, bELGIUM.
