Arthur Fletcher was born on 14th November 1879, he married his wife Henrietta Hendrick in 1910 at Nottingham, they lived at 7 Bramcote Street, Nottingham and went on to have the following children, Gladys Evelyn born 12th October 1911, Edna Agnes born 20th November 1912 and John Arthur born 15th February 1914. Following his death his widow Henrietta received a pension of 29 shillings and 7 pence a week which commenced on 11th November 1918.

Private Arthur Fletcher, enlisted at Nottingham and served with the 15th Battalion Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Regiment, he was reported missing between 22nd – 28th March 1918 . He had been taken a prisoner of war and died of wounds whilst in German hands on 6th April 1918. He is buried in Le Cateau Military Cemetery.
