1st Bn Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derby Regiment)
Private Harold Green, enlisted in Derby, whilst residing in Radford, Nottingham, he served with the 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire) Regiment. Landing in France on 4th November 1914, he was killed in action on 9th May 1915, he has no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Ploegsteert Memorial. A caption on his photograph in the local paper following his death states he had served for 5 years in india.
