George Henry Rogers married his wife Dorothy Maud Chambers (born 8th May 1897) whom he married in 1914 at Nottingham. They lived at 18 Mitchell Street Radford Nottingham, they went on to have a son Albert born 15th February 1915, he died in 11th January 1918. Following his death his widow was awarded a pension of 15 shillings a week which commenced on 5th March 1917. His widow later lived at 1 Victoria Square, Bovill Street, Radford, Nottingham.

Private George Henry Rogers enlisted at Nottingham whilst residing at Radford. He served with the 1/7th battalion Sherwood Foresters Regiment he was killed in action on 1st July 1916, the first day of the battle of the Somme, having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France.
