Henry John Stubbins married Lucy Jane Davis (born 1st August 1882) in 1904 at Nottingham, they lived at 3 Garden Terrace, Garden Street, Radford, Nottingham they went on to have the following children, Henry William born 27th May 1906, George born 29th January 1909, Lillian born 28th November 1911 and Alice born 11th March 1916. In 1911 the family lived at 3 Garden Terrace, Garden Street, Radford, Henry John is 29 yrs of age and a lace threader, he is living with his wife Lcy Jane 28 yrs and their children, Henry William 4 yrs and George 2 yrs of age. Following his death his widow Lucy was awarded a pension of 28 shillings and 9 pence a week which commenced on 10th December 1917..

Machine Gun Corps (Infantry)
Private Henry John Stubbins attested on 21st November 1915 at Nottingham, he was posted to the reserves. Mobilised for war on 14th June 1916 and posted to the Sherwood Foresters Regiment with the service number 52237 on 16th June 1916. He transferred to the Machine Gun Corps on 21st September 1916. He landed in France on 8th February 1917 and died of wounds on 27th May 1917 whilst serving with the 178th Company Machine Gun Corps. He is buried at Noeux-Les-Mines Communal Cemetery
