Thomas Watson was born in 1881 he was the son of James Lewis a railway porter and Mary Ann Watson née Simons of 54 Radford Marsh (later Faraday Road) Nottingham. James Lewis was born in 1860 at Welby, Lincolnshire, Mary Ann Simons was born in 1864 at Waltham, Leicestershire, they were married on 25th December 1882 at Waltham, they went on to have 5 children. He was the husband of Ann Rowley (born 26th April 1876 ) whom he married on 27th June 1915 at Aston, Warwickshire, they lived at 18 Bunting Street, Dunkirk, Nottingham they had a son Lewis Watson born 28th April 1916. Following his death his widow was awarded a pension of 20 shillings and 5 pence a week which commenced on 3rd June 1918.

16th Bn Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derby Regiment)
Private Thomas Watson enlisted at Aston, Warwickshire, he served with the 16th battalion Sherwood Foresters Regiment. He was killed in action between 20th & 22nd September 1917 having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial
