He was the son of Isaac and Sarah Jane Ball and the brother of William, Ethel and Winifred Ball. In 1911 they lived at 14 Linby Avenue Hucknall Torkard Nottinghamshire. Isaac snr and Sarah later mover to 39 Clarges Street Bulwell Nottingham.
In 1911 he was a coal miner hewer.

95th Bde Royal Field Artillery
Driver Isaac Ball, enlisted at Nottingham and served with “C” Battery, 95th Brigade Royal Field Artillery. He died of wounds on 12th October 1918 and is buried in Honnechy British Cemetery.
CWGC headstone personal inscription: 'Gone but not forgotten' 'In memoriam' notice published 11th October 1919 in the Nottingham Evening Post :- BALL. – In loving memory of our dear son, Driver Isaac Ball, of 39 Clarges-street, Bulwell, who died of wounds in France October 12th, 1918.
