Nottingham Evening Post obituary (abridged) 10 October 1917: 'Barber. Killed in action August 3rd 1917 Sergeant William Barber, Sherwood Foresters, age 21. Sisters Louie, Anne, Gertie, brother Jack, brother and sister in law.'
