Ernest Ford was the son of Joseph & Louisa Ford. Their seven children were: Ernest (b.1884), Ethel (b.1885), Herbert (b.1887), Bernard (b.1889), Harold (b.1891), Richard (b.1893) and Mabel (b.1895). They lived at: 52 Bailey Street, Basford [c.1891]; 19 Osborne Street, Radford [C.1901]; 33 Beaconsfield Street, Hyson Green [C.1911]. Joseph Ford, a lacemaker, died at Nottingham, aged 68, in 1928. His wife, Louisa, died a year earlier, aged 65, in 1927. In 1907 Ernest Ford married Florence Mabel Shardlow at Nottingham. Among their children were: children: Joseph Ernest (b.1908), John Edward (b.1910), Albert F. (b.1914)and Harold A. (b.1917). They lived at 4 Osborne Street, Radford [C.1911 & CWGC]. She then married Arthur Varley at Nottingham in 1921. Florence Mabel Varley died at Nottingham, aged 95, in 1978.
He was a knife grinder.
