Attested 12/06/1918 aged 18 years and 30 days. In 11th bn Sherwood Foresters from 4/10/18 to 9/10/18 then transferred to 1/8th. Joined his unit in the field on 17/10/1918, the day he was killed. So may have been killed on his first day of action. Items returned: wallet, photos, book, Religious book, notebook & pen, watch-chain, pendant, belt and letters.
This man is commemorated in a book of remembrance held by Mansfield District Council.
