Mansfield Chronicle Advertiser, 01/11/1917: Pte H Hollingworth the 3rd son of Mr & Mrs Thomas Hollingworth of 34 Murray Street, Mansfield. has been killed by a shell on 09/10/1917. In the 6th Wiltshire Regt he enlisted April 1915. He had worked at Lawn Mills as a cotton doubler. 2 other brothers are serving, Trooper Thomas Hollingworth and Pte William Arthur Hollingworth. Mansfield Chronicle Advertiser, 08/11/1917: Photograph; Harold was a staunch Salvationist, non-smoker, tea-totaller and bible reader. Before the final advane he gave his comrades his parent's address with a request they should write to them if anything happened during the offensive. He then read a passage of scripture. He had been a member of the Salvation Army for 13 years. He had volunteered to go and help relieve a Welsh Regiment and was killed by a shell along with one other whilst 5 more men were wounded. Headstone Inscription: "Safe at Home". This man is commemorated in a book of remembrance held by Mansfield District Council.
