He was the son of William Bradley and the brother of John, Reuben, Walter, Frederick, Elizabeth and Florence Bradley. In 1891 they lived at 30 Wesley Street Cotmanhay Ilkeston. In 1911 the family lived at 4 Rock Terrace Mansfield Nottinghamshire. He was the husband of Julia (née Cunningham) Bradley.

1st Bn Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derby Regiment)
He enlisted at Mansfield and was three times previously wounded. He entered theatre (France) after 1 January 1916 and only served with the 1st battalion Sherwood Foresters (Nott's and Derby Regiment). He was killed during the German attacks in the area of Villers- Bretonneux on the Somme front.
He is buried in Adelaide Cemetery, Villers - Bretonneux, grave II. B. 12. He was probably first buried in Chalk Lane cemetery and re-interred after the armistice.
