John Addems Webb was born in 1889 he was the son of John a joiner and Frances Ellen Webb née Coles and the brother of Frances Mary, Ernest, Laura Eveline, Elinor Doris and Leonard Webb. John was born in 1863 at Exeter, Frances Ellen was born in 1861 also at Exeter they were married in 1885 at Exeter and went on to have 6 children. In 1911 they lived at 4 Northernhay Square Exeter John is 48 yrs and is a joiner John and Frances later mover to 4 Dinham Road Exeter.
In 1911 John Webb was a printer and designer.

Private John Addems Webb enlisted on 14th October 1914 at Nottingham, giving his age as 25 yrs and 7 months, posted to the 1/7th battalion Sherwood Foresters Regiment. He arrived in France on 28th February 1915 and was killed in action on 18th April 1915, he is buried at Lindenhoek Chalet Military Cemetery, Belgium.
