Arthur Williams entered theatre (France & Flanders) after 1 January 1916. He only served with 9th battalion. On 4 October 1917 the battalion successfully attacked the Village of Poelcappelle and despite heavy losses, took all of its objectives. Arthur was killed during this attack and has no known grave. He is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial. John Morse
