Fred Henley, was born in 1866, Card, Somerset, Annie Bates Henley, born 1870 at Wymeswold, Leicestershire married in 1894 their marriage was recorded in the Nottingham registration district, they had 5 children, Walter, born in 1900 at Nottingham. Elizabeth, born in 1895 in Nottingham, Ellen born 1906 at Nottingham. The family lived at 2 Twells Street, Nottingham before moving to 18 Twells street.
He worked as a printer.

Private Frederick Robert Henley volunteered for service and following training was drafted to France on 15/12/1915. He survived until 08/01/1918 when he was killed in action during a 'quiet' period in the Ypres Salient. His body was never finally recovered but his name was commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial.
