Frank Brooks (junior) was born in 1885 and was the son of Frank Brooks (senior) a wicker furniture maker and the late Mary Jane Brookes née Sisson. he had a brother William Brooks. Frank Brookes (senior) was born in 1867 at Oxford, Mary Jane Sisson was born in 1865 at Staveley she died in 1907 aged 42 yrs, married in 1885 at Nottingham. In 1911 they lived at 100 Mitchell Street Nottingham. He married Ethel Sudbury (born 21st December 1895,) in 1915 at Nottingham, they lived at 3 Lincoln Terrace, Hawksley Road, Basford, his widow later lived at 6 Tennyson Terrace Hawksley Road Hyson Green Nottingham. Commencing 20th May 1918 his widow was awarded a pension of 13 shillings and 9 pence a week.
He was a wicker chair maker.

24th Bn (Tyneside Irish) Northumberland Fusiliers
Private Frank Brooks enlisted at Derby and served wit the 24th battalion Northumberland Fusiliers, he was killed in action on 22nd October 1917, having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial
