Albert Foulkes was born in 1879 the son of James a pig & poultry dealer and Rose Ann Foulkes née Musham of Mill Home, Belvoir Hill, Nottingham. James Foulkes was born in 1843 at Azeby, Lincolnshire, Rose Ann Musham was born in 1849 at Sheffield, they were married in 1874 at Nottingham and went on to have 10 children, 1 sadly died in infancy or early childhood, In 1911 the family lived at Mill Home, Belvior Hill, Nottingham James is 68 yrs and a pig and poultry dealer, Albert is 30 yrs and a lace threader.
In 1911 he was a lace threader.

Private Albert Foulkes, enlisted at Nottingham and served with the 2nd Battalion Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Regiment, was killed in action on 21st March 1918 whilst holding the line near Morchies, France on the opening day of the German Spring Offensive or (Kaiserschlact). He is buried at Queant Road Cemetery, Buissy.
