Frederick Bonnington was born in 1900 in Nottingham and was the son of Frederick (senior) a lace curtain designer and Janet Bonnington née Allen of 154 Flewitt Street, Nottingham. His father Frederick (senior) was born in 1873 at Nottingham and his mother was born in 1875 also at Nottingham, they were married in 1897 their marriage was recorded in the Nottingham Registration District, they had a further son Claude Cecil Bonnington born 1898 Nottingham. In the 1911 census the family at 154 Flewitt Street Nottingham and were shown as Frederick 38 yrs a lace curtain designer, he is living with his wife Janet 36 yrs and their sons Claude Cecil 13 yrs a scholar and Frederick 11 yrs a scholar.

52nd Bn Durham Light Infantry
Private Frederick Bonnington enlisted at Nottingham, he served with the 52nd battalion, Durham Light Infantry, he died at Middlesborough on 26th May 1918 of double pneumonia. He is buried at Nottingham General Cemetery
