Sister: Eileen A., born in 1896 in Derby. The family lived at 81 Goldsmith Street, Nottingham.

Pte. Sullivan volunteered for service on August 8, 1914, and after training he was drafted to France the following year. He was formerly No. 7973 in the Royal Army Service Corps, but was later posted to 'D' Company, 9th Battalion, Royal fusiliers, and whilst with them he won the Military Medal for gallant behaviour. He was involved in the fighting round Monchy le Preux and was killed in action on 26/09/1917. He was buried at Monchy British Cemetery.
