John Henry Losco Field was born in 1893 the son of William Gallard a brewery commission agent and Ruth Annie Field née Woolley and the brother of William Gallard and Charles Samuel Field of 81 Birrell Road Sherwood Rise Nottingham. William Gallard was born in 1867 at Shenley, Buckinghamshire, Ruth Annie Woolley was born in 1866 at Nottingham, they were married in 1887 at Nottingham and had 3 children. In 1911 the family were living at 81 Birrell Road, Sherwood Rise, Nottingham, William 44 yrs is brewery commission agent, John Henry Losco 18 yrs is a telephone fitter

1/6th Bn Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derby Regiment)
Private John Henry Losco Field, initially served with the service number 2597 in the South Notts Hussars, he later transferred and served with the 1/6th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire) Regiment, he was killed in action during a raid on German trenches on 13th August 1917. He is commemorated on the Loos Memorial.
